About the position

We are looking to hire a Senior Lawyer to join the Corporate Legal Department of Grupo CIMD Intermoney.

The selected candidate will provide specialised legal advice on corporate and contractual matters and will be involved in the drafting, review and negotiation of strategic agreements with national and international clients and suppliers, supporting the Group’s various divisions and companies globally.

Main responsibilities:

  • Draft, review and negotiate all types of commercial agreements with Group clients and strategic suppliers at national and international level.
  • Provide legal analysis of new business and investment opportunities, access to new markets and projects related to the Group’s various companies in Spain and abroad. Prepare legal reports.
  • Provide support in negotiation processes, contractual compliance, guarantees, liability, insolvency matters and general terms and conditions, supporting the Group in its national and international growth and providing the necessary legal certainty.
  • Coordinate legal advice on matters involving different jurisdictions, coordinating with external local counsel where appropriate. Analyse applicable regulations and add value through the identification and management of legal risks.
  • Advise the Group on corporate reorganisations and restructurings; draft, review and negotiate shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements and any corporate documentation.
  • Support the Group in acquisitions, divestments, partnership agreements and financing transactions throughout the entire process, coordinating due diligence and external legal advice.
  • Drive the improvement and standardisation of the Group’s contracting processes.
  • Perform similar or complementary duties assigned to the department from time to time.
  • Work closely with other departments and the various business areas.

Requirements

  • Degree in Law or double degree in Law/Finance, or similar specialisation in the financial sector.
  • Master’s Degree in Legal Practice. Admitted to the Bar in Spain or another European jurisdiction.
  • More than 10 years of professional experience at a top-tier law firm or in an in-house legal department within the financial sector.
  • Ability to independently negotiate complex financial markets and securities agreements.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of tax matters will be considered an advantage.
  • Fluent English (C1 level).

  • Ability to resolve matters independently, reducing the need for supervision. Sound judgement to escalate matters when appropriate, particularly on regulatory and contractual issues.

  • Potential to progressively take on greater levels of responsibility and complexity.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented and results-driven approach.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the Group’s senior management and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to constant change; the Group is continuously evolving and requires a willingness to take on new challenges. Ability to thrive in a high-demand environment.
